Presskonferensen på Carrington i dag blev tydligen dramatisk med en kamerman som svimmade och en Sir Alex som ryckte ut och kallade på doktor.
Som väntat handlade mycket om Gary Nevilles beslut att lägga matchskorna på hyllan – han kommer att fortsätta träna med laget under våren.
“Gary will remain with the team. He will train whenever he wants. The next step forward for our club is to retain Gary in a capacity in which he will be satisfied. That’s because I feel his contribution and what he can contribute in future years is about what we are. We are a family club and he has been part of that. He has created that family atmosphere in the dressing room time and time again over the years.”
Han vill se fler mål av Rooney. Det vill jag också. Det vill alla som håller på United oavsett om vi tycker att han är en bluffsupporter eller inte.
“Hopefully – and there’s every chance with scoring the kind of goals he scored the other night – that he’ll take off,” said Sir Alex.
“Goalscorers are like that and hopefully that’s what we’re going to see with Wayne. He’s got 14 league games, Eurpean games and FA Cup games – he could easily get a good average.”
Rafael ska vara tillbaka och det blir ett lyft förstås. Att spela med John O’Shea som högerback i stället är som att använda PC i stället för Mac.
