United spelade 3-3 mot Everton borta och efter matchen handlade snacket naturligtvis mest om sättet som United gav bort en given seger på.

Sir Alex Ferguson uttryckte det alla kände efter matchen – nämligen att United kastade bort segern, nÃ¥got som han pÃ¥pekar hände även i den senaste bortamatchen mot Fulham. Annars tycker han att United gjorde en rätt bra insats även om man missade för mÃ¥nga mÃ¥lchanser. Han rosade Dimitar Berbatov som Uniteds bästa spelare. Vidare förklarade Uniteds boss att Wayne Rooneys frÃ¥nvaro berodde pÃ¥ att Rooney fÃ¥r osedvanligt mycket skit pÃ¥ Goodison Park.

Football can do that to you. We were in a complete comfort position and we threw it away, it’s as simple as that. The last two away games have been like that. We lost a goal with three minutes to go against Fulham and it’s the same again today.

Hemmalaget firade det oavgjorda resultatet som en seger efter matchen och Tim Cahill tycker att slutet på matchen var otroligt. Cahill menar dock att Everton förtjänade en poäng i en mycket svår match.

To be honest it’s quite unreal but I think if we look at the chances we gave away and the chances we missed it’s probably a fair result in the end. It was a tough game, really difficult. It just shows the fight. We’ve tried and tried the last couple of games and it hasn’t happened. Today it was a great result.

Tim Cahill

Darren Fletcher var extrem besviken efter matchen och menar att United måste dra lärdom av matchens avslutning och hur man stänger matcher. Han menar att United var nöjda med 1-1 i halvtid men tycker att United kontrollerade matchen i andra halvlek.

It’s desperately disappointing. We were 3-1 up at 90 minutes [to draw from that position] is not what’s expected at United. All we can do now is learn from it, that’s the biggest thing. The same happened to us at Fulham and this shows we haven’t learned from that. We really have to do that now and see games out when we’re in a winning position.

It was important we scored straight away and went into half-time at 1-1. At that point we would have been the happier team. Then we came out in the second half, played some good football and got ourselves into a good position. We started the second half the way we should do – we passed the ball around and took our chances. We were in control of the game.

The biggest thing, though, is that we learn from today and don’t let it happen again.
